Hi

Just wondering what people are using to manage cat5 and fibre runs under the house?
I have mine hooked up over bolts.. But thinking something like saddle clamps would work like for pipes... But around $1 each so hoping someone has a better idea..

Needs to handle several cat5 cables...

Thanks

Get a roll of velcro, cut a length suitable for your cable bundle, screw in to the joists/bearers/whatever under the house.

I bought these cable (?phone) hook which comprised a closable plastic ring with a nail integrated. Came in a loose packet of 10 or so. Cant remember where though either Redfords or mitre10

Each could only hold one cable but was quite neat.

Either velcro like @chevrolux suggested or half saddles will do

Cheap conduit from Bunnings - can get bulk packs of Deta branded conduit, saddles and elbows https://www.bunnings.co.nz/deta-20mm-medium-duty-rigid-conduit-10-pack_p00048924

It's overkill for Cat5 (can only fit around 4 cables in 20mm conduit, so I have a few parallel runs of conduit approaching the central hub), but I think it's a must for fibre (don't have to worry about damaging it when doing work on the house)

I wouldn't conduit it unless rodent protection was an issue. Working with conduit under a floor with multiple cables is the absolute worst.

I managed my cable runs under my house by installing a stiff steel wire from point A to point B. From there I can run any number of cables along the wire. The actual method of supporting the cables to the steel wire can be decided by the user.

I have just used cable ties with a staple holding the cable tie into a bearer.

I printed a heap of these clips, scaled up slightly to fit my cable https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1471789

chevrolux:

you can just use the staple gun to staple the velcro (i usually use 2-3 pending on how many cables there are) , have used this method many times before.

It makes adding more cables so easy, just undo the velcro and redo it up.

Catenary wire with velcro is what's usually used in commercial settings.

Think I'm going to try the gun staple and velcro approach.

Keep the ideas coming for others!
