I have the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth. It came with a CD but I lost it and for some reason Microsoft won't let customers download the drivers for their bluetooth devices.

I have recovered most of the drivers needed to reinstall the mouse except one:
Q323183_WXP_SP2_x86_Enu.exe

Here is the knowledge base on it:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];323183

I have ordered another CD from them but it will not get here until a week from now and I have no mouse. It's rather tedious getting around. If I can get this one file now, about 1 meg, I will be set. Host it, email it, however, I cannot do P2P due to a firewall I do not have control over.

BTW, I have found a German version of the file but it will not work due to language conflicts.

Reward, if you find it before I do, paypal'd (not much but it will get you a CD or some food): $15 US.

Thank you for your time.

Respectfully,
Stu Slattery

hello people, noob here ;o)

i have a similar problem as others above ^^

i can get the CD from work tomorrow but i would rather use the mouse with my laptops onboard BT (Bluetooth) card...My spec is; XP Pro on Toshiba Tecra 9100. I have the latest Toshiba for Windows BT drivers installed but it doesnt support the HID profile for the BT Mouse :os

I have been told that the Dell BT software is the best around and can be used to make the mouse work but it didnt work for me.

Any thoughts?

Microsoft uses proprietary software, regular bluetooth ain't gonna work. Give Bill Gates a pat on the back for a good job.

The Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and keyboard are using standard Bluetooth HID profiles, and should work with any Bluetooth device/driver implementing this.

Currently you have TDK, Belkin, D-LINK, MSI, Bluetake, Dell.

If someone has to update anything, in the TheSaint's case is Toshiba, not Microsoft.

i agree freitasm. i have looked on Tosh's website and nothing is avalable. i assume they bundle the profiles with the bluetooth stack - which is installed on this machine. and it doesnt work so therefore they dont include the profile in it!!

i've tried to find out who makes the BT card in these Tecra laptops cos i very much doubt its one of Toshiba's own! but that is proving difficult...

If that's the case then my bad. I have seen in other forums of peeps not gettin connectivity through the MS bluetooth receiver and their products, it was a general consensus that MS's bluetooth wasn't universal.

discostu is correct with MS products. the software completely takes control of bletooth settings on your computer. now im not sure what level this control goes down to but i've read its just registry level - so a bit of cleaning up will sort it out....

Discostu, there are two things here. TheSaint is trying to use the MS Bluetooth Mouse and keyboard with its current Bluetooth adapter (a Toshiba). That adapter needs to support HID, which it doesn't, but the MS devices do, so it's on Toshiba's side of the field.

OTOH, the MS transceiver is another problem. The software (currently available on Windows XP SP1 only) supports a few profiles, mainly the dial-up (DUN), Human Interface Devices (HID) and Hard Copy Print (HCP), and that's it. The hardware itself is standard Bluetooth. Evidence of this is that people hack other software to work with it.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 will bring other profiles that everyone needs, like LAN Access, Serial Port, File Transfer and more. Have a look here.

TheSaint, the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack on SP1 is only installed from the CD that comes with the CD transceiver and will not work with another hardware. The one that comes with SP2 will also only work with their hardware. So you're still depending on Toshiba.
