Hi there,

Has anyone successfully setup an HP Laserjet CP1025nw using WPS to connect to a Huawei B315 router?

Steps taken:

Pressed and held the WPS button on the router. Wifi flashes as expected.

Turned on Wifi on printer which flashed. Guess device is expecting to pair.

After a couple of minutes the router gives up and the printer stays flashing.

Sigh.

When you say turned on wifi on printer... did you press and hold it to activate WPS also?

1. Press the WPS button on your wireless router.

2. Press and hold the Wireless button on the product control panel for two seconds. Release the button when the wireless light starts blinking.

3. Wait up to two minutes while the product establishes a network connection with the wireless router.

I NEVER even attempt to use WPS to setup wifi printers.
Do it manually via the printers menu . I often also give the printer a static IP (even if its wireless)

Even better, connect via network cable .

I put the router into WPS mode and then did the same on the printer. Both devices just flashed and flashed and....You get the idea :-)

Might have to experiment with trying to get the printer to do the network join.

I cannot believe you would want to hook the printer up via WPS. Either plug in the password on the front of the printer console, or have it hard-wired in via an ethernet cable.

Otherwise you will spent longer than it takes to do it manually trying to get it working (which I suspect you have already done!)

Sitting at a distance from the router in a house with no structured cabling. Could shell out a couple of hundred for some ethernet over power adaptors but what's the point. Easier to just plug into USB

I've had experience with B315 & HP 6970 printer. Use manual IP setup, it just takes the guesswork away. Connect your printer with your choice of numbers & it'll stay there. Then get the HP Smart app, seems to be the best way to connect from PC & it's an effective app for printing & remarkably good for scanning.
