Might be a dumb question, but how do you mount a switch in the comms cupboard?
There are holes for screws at the back of the switch, but do you find screws to fit the holes in the comms cupboard (please see photos)?

Also, would like the Vodafone Ultra Hub in there as well.
Any way that it can be mounted or does it just have to stand up on top of cables?

And finally, is there anything wrong with mounting a PoE switch on the side (so the front is facing upwards)?

Think zip ties rather than screws.... really long ones.

Yep cable ties rule!
Oh and don't forget external Wi-Fi as the Ultrahub won't emit much past that metal cage :)
Yes you can mount the PoE switch facing up, as long as the cabinet is not too dust prone to filling up the empty ports with dust.

Use long plastic cable ties. You can buy them at bunnings etc.

the tricks I have found are:

  • Bend the point end to get it and and out of the holes
  • Attach multiple cable ties together to get length
  • Be careful not to cover any port you want to connect to

Yep, got a ceiling mounted wireless access point ready.

‘Yes you can mount the PoE switch facing up, as long as the cabinet is not too dust prone to filling up the empty ports with dust.‘

I was planning on having the ports pointing down to avoid dust.

You can get those enclosures in plastic now

Check the manual for the poe switch regarding mounting position.
