On my iPhone, my fibre speed is approx 190/20.
On my TV, which is hardwired, I only get approx 90/20.
How come? I thought it could expect faster speeds, if it’s hardwired.
I just did a speedtest as well, where the TV was connected via WiFi.
Almost same speed as I get on my phone.
Can the Ethernet cable be faulty?

TV most likely has fastEthernet interface, 100 Mbps symmetrical.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Cause your TV has a 100Mbp/s port why would it need anything faster?

100mbit to a tv is totally fine. even at the high end, it's rare to see more than a 60mbit stream locally and it's more likely at that stage the tv wont be able to handle processing it before it caps out bandwidth wise.

as mentioned there is no need for faster than 100mbps to a TV, so manufactures spend less money on the Ethernet adapter they put in it

Aha, makes sense.
So you would still recommend hardwired over WiFi?

100Mb fine but which TV model, new ones do 1G? If cabling is wiring is wrong it could just be dropping to 100M.

worst thing you want is to risk it dropping down to 2.4ghz or have an update come to a mobile device and stall your streaming media.

in saying that, i use my Chromecast ultra over wireless (3M away) as running a cable over the floor would just get tripped over.
