Sony TV will see vodafone wireless network but not get internet content. Signal strength fine. Samsung TV on same network is OK tho.

Vodafone help could not solve.

Is there an easy fix or should I go to the trouble of terminating etc some existing cat 5e and go wired?

Is this a Sony A1? Last week I had to factory reset my in-laws TV - it would connect to WiFi, get an IP but have no Internet access. The same happened while plugged with ethernet cable. This started happening after its last update. The factory reset solved it.

Interesting. I'm dealing with a similar issue today. Sony KD65X8000G. Couple of weeks ago it would not connect to internet. "Ethernet is not connected" or "Wifi is not connected" no matter what I tried. **BUT** Netflix WOULD work. Youtube and TVNZ apps would say not connected.

Eventually I gave up and reset TV to defaults...

All was well, for a while, until yesterday when same thing happened.
It so happened I had reinstated my Pi-hole, thinking the TV issue was resolved.

What I've determined is that in the TV settings - Network Settings - Setup - Advanced - If I manually specify a DNS server it will work. But with the preset 8.8.8.8 DNS server it will not work. Might be worth a try? Mine works at the moment with DNS pointing to 1.1.1.1.

Cheers,
Joseph
