I was foolish enough to not read the guide before installing SP2. Now that the job has been done, I am trying to make BT work again. So far no lucks. I read the link given here to salvage ActiveSync over BT. However, I have not achieved success yet.

Here is what is going on:

1. I uninstalled Belkin driver and rebooted the machine.

2. Next, plugged the adaptor and as mentioned in the guide, selected "connect to windows update". However, the driver for my adaptor was not found. I notice that in the guide, the author had mixed results with Belkin adaptor, but eventually it worked. What should I do to make it work for me?

3. I then installed Belkin driver again, and now I have two icons in control panel: BT Device and BT configure. Using BT Device, I am able to add my iPaq 2215 and Nokia 3650. However, the incoming port assigned is Com14 and ActiveSync wont list beyond 9.

I read Mauricio's recommendation that those with Widcomm stack should stay with that. What exactly should I do to stay with Widcomm? At the end, I want my ActiveSync back Widcomm or MS.

Thanks for your help,

Wonderful! I have got the activesync working again using MS Stack. I guess I had to send a post to the forum to get working again. Wish I had done this sooner ;)

Cheers,
Suvrat

This is me again. Interestingly, as soon as I took out the adapter, all settings pertaining to bt disappeared. Connected adapter, and windows again tells me that a new usb device found. Once again, I select to connect to Windows update, and once again, appropriate driver could not be found.

Clueless now
