My old roll of Cat5e is finished. I have Cat5e wall jacks /etc and a new-to-me house to run some cables in.

No one has Cat5e solid core in stock that I can find in Wellington. Will I regret using Cat6 punched down on my Cat5e jacks?

I only need to pass Gigabit Ethernet and some PoE.

I have done it, and it worked fine. All my countertop sockets in the shed are trademe cheapie 5e ones on cat6 - all work fine. I didnt risk it at the patch end because that has runs that matter in it.

OK I'll go and buy 20m from J A Russell then, don't need a 305m roll

Mixing cat5e and cat6 cable and mechs is fine, no issues.
