Hi,

I’ve decided to upgrade from a Edgerouter POE to a RB4011, arriving soon.

I’m using Spark Fibre Max and was wondering if these guides are helpful for me to learn how to set it up?

Thanks to Michael for creating them!

They’re slightly old hence why I’m checking.

Cheers!

Hi nothing really needs to change in those docs they all look good.

But just to say I never use webmin, being a Linux kinda guy I have no ready way to access it, but webmin (ie Web via port 80) works just fine.

Without reading through those entire threads one thing to be aware of is that the default firewall rules have changed a lot in recent years and now has the concept of address lists. If you don't add the pppoe client to the WAN interface address list you'll have no connectivity.

Good point Steve, yes there are excellent default rules now preloaded, but they do require you use the interface lists.

As a bonus though it does mean you don't need to create additional drop rules and masquerade rules for the pppoe client!
