We are using a hp laptop (hp 145-c73065tu) and want to connect it to the router for better ping. the laptop doesn't have an ethernet port. Is it better to use hdmi to ethernet or usb to ethernet? We are doing this to play fortnite. Thanks.

Also, we are hoping people with the fancy toaster will help us on our other post re which are the best settings for vogels toast from the freezer?

I'm not sure what model that actually is, but I give you very low odds that the HDMI port on your laptop actually has ethernet through it. It's a laptop: if they were going to give you an ethernet port, they'd just add an ethernet port.

Is that even a thing?  Certaintly there is HDMI over Ethernet, but I've never heard of Ethernet over HDMI.

Not the cheapest, but built in drivers in Windows 10 and something you can pick up tomorrow if you don't want to wait for shipping from AliExpress/eBay:

Edit: I just bought mine from Warehouse Stationery. Looks like life is not so simple now, I can't find a brick and mortar shop with stock in NZ now.
