RB5009 has been released; could be a better option than the RB4011 for some cases.

7 GigE + 1 x 2.5 GigE + SFP+ and USB. Can fit 4 in a 1U space. Doesn't seem to be any word as to whether it has the same SFP limitations as the Rb4011. Apparently requires ROS 7, not sure if this is mature enough yet though (although the support page links to ROS 6.48.3).

I saw that the other day, it looks good being able to cram 4 in to 1RU

It's a real wispy design, i suspect ros 7 will still be the limiting factor.

Of all the wisps i talk to nobody seems to want to touch it with a stick.

they also did a new version of the 1009, more port capacity but less physical cpu.

That seems to be the elephant in the room. It's been in beta forever, not really something to put in a production environment.

They have dropped the ball in wireless as well. Currently pulling all Mikrotik wireless related from all sites due to such poor performance. (Drop outs, rubbish speeds)

Keep the routers and matching it with Grand stream.

Guys. Even with ROS7 this is still more production grade than anything Ubiquiti have these days.

My RB4011 is great for my needs so don’t see myself upgrading to this apart from the simple excuse “why not”.

Looks like a nice little upgrade. Would be very cool to see this size with 10Gbps RJ45 ports, but I guess that makes the CCR's a bit irrelevant.
My standard router for a loooong time has been the 4011. Its just awesome and so cheap.

And yes, as MM says, sooooo much better than any Ubiquiti trash.

People seem to either love or hate Mikrotik wifi. Seems to be a lot of very happy users as well. Missing DTIM and beacon settings seems to be a bugbear for some.

To answer my own question, the SFP list has been updated today. Seems better compatibility with passive DACs that the RB4011 had issues with.

I feel like using Mikrotik for general "WiFi" deployment is just making a lot of work for yourself. Like CAPsMAN works, but takes a bit of setting up. If that's the price point, just use Unifi APs (the only UBNT line that isn't trash) with a Mikrotik router for all the important stuff - best of both worlds that way.

Mikrotik wireless for P2P rocks though. Was great in the wisp space and it's great now. We can't buy those 60GHz radios fast enough, they are just so easy to deploy and performance rocks.

@chevrolux To be perfectly honest the Ubiquiti WiFi gear is rubbish these days. I just really, really dislike the way the UniFi controller has gone and how it is essentially a beta. I'm using Aruba access points these days but would rather use the Cisco Business stuff, Cambium or Grandstream over UniFi (personally).

I'm saying this but am still installing a Dream Machine + some UniFi AP's at a house tomorrow... The new UniFi controller is great for your average Joe but horrible for anyone who wants more flexibility like myself. Plus I think that Ubiquiti have gone a step in the right direction with integrating the controller in their latest routers but it is too late given (for example) Cisco, Aruba, Grandstream etc have the controller running on access points, switches etc for their instant type products.

Grandstream GWN7630 Long Range 802.11ac 4x4 Wave-2 Wireless Access Point

This here: https://www.gowifi.co.nz/grandstreamnetworks/gwn7630.html

For the price point, its epic. Free cloud based controller as well. UniFi can jump in the lake with their bs.

@Shindig, that's an access point, not a router. Not comparable to either RB4011 or RB5009.
