Hi, First an explanation.. I am not really a Geek.. but more a wannabe geek.. and I want to know if the following is possible to do..

I recently changed ISP's from VF VDSL to Stuff fibre when Fibre became available in our street.. and long story short, I opted for their landline addon, only to later find that it really is just a number diversion of sorts and that any calls we make have to be from our mobiles, which for a number of reasons I would have preferred to use the landline phones.. But it turns out to actually use the landline, we have to shell out  $70 to get some adapter (Grandstream Analogue Telephone Adapter) in order to use those phones.

So.. Rookie question.. given that our LL used to work via plug in to our old VF Ultra hub router.. can I kill two birds with one stone.. and

1. Configure my VF UH as an extender.. AND

2. use my landline phone plugged into that router.

Although I am currently getting 100mbs in the end of the house where i planned to set up the UH, so don't really need it for extra speed.. That end of the house is closer to the shed.. and I would like better coverage out there...

I guess an option of course is to just ditch the landline,, and still try to use the UH as an adapter.. or to get a dedicated wifi extender..

Any help would be most appreciated..

Stephen

To answer that very simply, no.

WiFi extenders should also be banned from sale because of the problems they cause, but that's another discussion entirely.
