I am looking for good practices and studies about wireless usability in consumer products.
I have been looking for good practices in the area, particularly addressing the first time user experience for a while without any success. First time user experience is crusial for sucess of wireless, if one can not figure out how to do a particular thing with little or no effort first time it is attempted many people end up disappointed, never try again or return the product back to the shop.
Usability is a tough nut to crack, however the way I see it first time experience relies on users’ expectations and usage patterns (many times based how one would do a similar task via wire), perception derived from sales- or product documentation, user interface and default configurations.
Any hints on design principles or high-/low level advise on what to address or further web resources would be appreciated becuase I am stuck...
