Seen a few threads on this but just looking for a little clarification if possible.

Looking to spec a UDM-Pro for a business on Spark Gigabit Fibre, who want IPS/IDS capability but to retain their current 900/450 ish throughput.

I know the device is perhaps a little half baked (like most of Ubiquiti's equipment at the moment), but is super simple to configure & manage, and will work nicely as they already have UniFi wireless gear at this location. I think the signatures are around a month behind with the Ubiquiti gear?

Pretty sure they don't need split DNS, static DNS etc so that shouldn't be an issue.

Is anyone able to confirm what sort of throughput they see on a PPPoE VLAN connection, with IPS & IDS enabled?

A different brand router is possibly a better option, but the ease of management of the UDM line is a nice to have for sure.

Any comments appreciated, and I'd love if someone who has one on a Gigabit PPPoE connection was able to confirm what sort of WAN-LAN throughput they get with IPS & IDS enabled.

Thanks!

There are PPPoE issues with IPS & IDS enabled on the UDM Pro. Speeds vary ~ 600-700 in some cases. In others it can be worse.
I was seeing ~ 500. Depends on your network config and other bits configured on the UDM Pro as well. Latest beta firmware makes it even worse!
