hi everyone,

I have a Egderouter Lite + 2 x 8 port switches.

im not really familiar with networkings but most youtube how-to's indicated i shouldnt just run a cable to switch 1 to switch 2.

how should i really utilized these 3 toys? i try connecting switch 2 to port 2 on the Lite but no luck

any insight would be appreciated:) and please excuse my poor grammar (and typo)

thanks,

Sam

On a standard network switch, all ports are equal.  You can go from ERL to Switch1 to Switch2 without issue.  Anything connected to either switch will be able to access the internet and any other device connected to either switch.

Unless you plan on saturating one of the links like a nas on one switch and a computer on the other switch thrashing the NAS, dont worry about how you lay it out, if you are doing heavy networking stuff then better gear might be an idea.

thanks for the inputs, I’m not doing anything crazy heavy. I guess I will just do what I planned to:)
The second is pretty much gathering the hue and home assistant.

Thanks again everyone.

Cheers
