Hey guys,

currently on gigabit fibre. using a tp link router er605 in standalone mode, there is a managed mode but i have not tried that yet, happy with the router.

currently using 2 wifi 5 ap's, netgear orbi rbk50 in AP mode, want to move to wifi 6, ideally wifi 6e.

tp link have some omada wifi 6 ap's could go down that route but they are not 6e.

where would you put your money?

Cheers

When I last asked, 6e was still being thought about for NZ, and there were no plans for it.

As they will be locking it down geographically, and the US has the rules that you cant change the region from US on anything sold there by software I would be reluctant to spend on the gear right now unless you are ok with biffing it and replacing once 6e becomes legit to use here.

Grandstream GWN766x series if you want to go WiFi 6. Local controller on one AP will control all the others on your network. 4x4:4 & 2x2:2 options available.

Aruba Instant on is managed from the cloud, the AP25 is an excellent 4x4 device

for enterprise the Aruba AP-535 is also fantastic but expensive

Oops yeah my bad, the instant on's are cloud managed [free] I had myself confused with the Aruba network I recently inherited which has a local virtual controller setup on one of the AP's

If your using the TP-link Omada ER605 why not get the Omada access points that match that router? That will give you a fully integrated system that works nicely and can easily be controlled by there Software controller. For Wifi-6 the options are 610 (1800X), 620HD (1800X) and 660HD (3600X), range is excellent and they're reasonably priced. Add an Omada PoE switch if you don't already have one and you'll have the entire network easily controllable.
