I want to use a Synology router as a wireless AP. Just checking, do I use the same SSID and password as the router to get seamless connection around the house?

Thanks.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

What kind of system do you currently have?

Its just a TP Link router. I will run some cable from it to where the Synology is going and set the Synology to Wireless AP.

The Synology, especially with later versions of Synology DSM is an incredibly powerful router and I would say more feature packed than your TP-Link. Tried using it recently as your main router?

Its a fairly old one, RT1900ac. When I got it I had issues with it, cant remember what they were now. So it got put in the drawer of spare bits until now when I need an AP.
