A friend has recently had fibre installed in new home, and all wiring etc is in a downstairs closet including the router.

His office is upstairs and the ethernet wall ports all work fine.

However, he also has a landline (VoIP), so wondered if simple cables of RJ11-to-RJ45 (router-to-switch-to-wall-to-phone) would work OK?

Is it a voip phone or are they using the "phone" port on the router?

Second question:  Where do I find the 'landline' number in the Huawei DN8245X6 interface?
