I bought an inexpensive bluetooth dongle that came with a CD ... alas I have since lost the CD and now am trying to reinstall the software/drive on my new home computer (XP).

The manual (which I still have) references UBT1000 as well as Bluetooth Software 1.2.2.9

Having read all the posts in the Forum I have got as far as downloading the latest WIDCOMM software but get stuck on the "Your Bluetooth Software license does not include use with this Bluetooth device".

The question is .. Where the hell do I get a license.dat for a Samsung Bluetooth Device (which is what it comes up as in Device Manager) ??

The samsung websites don't have any mention of bluetooth at all and know I am at a loss ..

It says Samsung on the device list, but what's the brand of this adapter? You should be able to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Unfortunately it has not markings, it seems to be a 'generic' one. Is there any other way you can tell?

If you're running Windows XP Service Pack 2 you can try removing the Bluetooth software, reboot and just insert the Bluetooth adapter to see if the standard Microsoft Bluetooth software works with it.
