Hi,

I have a 4G connection and a Unifi setup with USG, 8port switch, and some APs.

Struggling with the config to get this working through the USG.

Do I need the Smart Modem in bridge mode and the USG with PPOE?

I have a static IP with the 4G connection.

Reset the SSM2 to factory settings - it will establish the 4G connection easily enough.
Plug the USG WAN into one of the SSM2 LAN ports.

On the USG side - set the WAN connection to DHCP or static IP. Static IP is better.
Enter a static IP on the same subnet as the SSM2. Gateway should be set to the SSM2 and same with IP.

That should be it.

Untick use VLAN 10 on your WAN settings for the USG.

Ideally you want to have seperate IP subnets else it gets really confusing.
Some recommendations below -

SSM2

LAN IP -
IP Address - 192.168.1.254
IP Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0

IP Address Pool -
Start IP - 192.168.1.100
End IP - 192.168.1.220

USG

LAN Settings
Gateway/Subnet - 192.168.2.1/24
DHCP Range - 192.168.2.100-192.168.2.220

WAN Settings
Static IP
IP Address - 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Router - 192.168.1.254
DNS Server - 192.168.1.254
