Hello everyone!

I moved in to a house.

I am setting up our Internet/Wifi and noticed that only 1 Ethernet/Network port in our home is working even though our house has other ports.

Basically, except for the one in our living room, all other ports in other rooms are just useless holes.

I wish to turn those useless holes into active holes.

Thank you everyone :)

do you have a distribution panel somewhere in the house where the Optical Network Terminal lives? Likely in a garage?

Will look something like this:

take some photos of what you have and post them here.

Based on that picture, you should have five working ports around the house. From the router, the yellow cable feeds into the Edimax switch, then this branches out to the patch panel on the right with five ports connected. However I see one of the cables from the switch goes into what looks like a phone patch panel.

You're definitely plugging into Ethernet ports, and not phone ports around the house?

It's only work in one port,

I don't know how to let it work for all port,

It looks that right side in internet - Module, Cat6, 8-Port Data

Left side phone panel?

There is also a router missing from that picture, the ONT looks to be plugged into an edimax switch.

Router is the only work port one ,

Which plug in living room to share wifi.

Yes, it does plugged into an edimax switch :)

The router shoukd have yellow cable plugged into it. Then connect that to the switch.
You might then have a port in the master work as well.
But looks like a repatching is required.

Yes, it does plugged into an edimax switch :)

Router needs to plug into ONT directly, then plug the lan side into the edimax switch

can't go ONT, edimax, router, it doesn't work that way

You need to put the router into that cabinet and connect a LAN port on the router to that EDIMAX switch.

So, connect that yellow cable to WAN port on router, connect another cable from LAN port on router to the port on the Edimax that the yellow cable is currently connected to.

Then, wall ports labelled 1 to 5 will have internet.

Wifi - if it doesn't reach from that enclosure to where you need it, you'll need to get an access point and connect it to one of the working wall ports.

If you have the modem/router in the living area, then you need to send a second cable route back to the Edimax switch, similar to this diagram:

On the image above each outlet has two ethernet ports, if your house also has two ports in each outlet it might be possible to copy the above diagram. If you only have one ethernet port in each outlet, that might not be possible without some DIY or a professional installer to do.

My Guess that their won't be two ports in those locations, or if there is one will be Landline and One will be Data

you could jumper the landline points into the other panel

OP where are you located?

is there 2 network ports next to each other in the lounge? if not you will likely have to put the router into the box where the switch is, connect the yellow cable from the ONT to the router then connect the router to the switch, that will give you wired conenction to everywhere the switch is connected, ie the 5 ports that are connected on the right distribution/patch panel at the bottom.

Your next probable will when be wifi coverage throughout the house, as having the router in the network box really kills its range
