Hi,

I have  Spark Smart Modem 3 and have enabled the standard wifi and also the guest network. The standard wifi works fine and whilst the guest network is running and clients can connect, they don't get internet connectivity. Both wifi and guest network are running on the 2.4GHz

Any ideas / suggestions from anyone?

Thanks

I had visitors today using my SSM3 guest network on my 2degrees fibre.

I have the following config that may or may not affect the guest network.

Both guest 2.4 and 5GHz enabled.

WLan Band steering - No.

IP Address Pool 192.168.1.30 to 60

DNS Server - Customer DNS - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

I think I've worked out why this is happening, but not the fix as yet.

I factory reset the router and enabled the guest wifi and it worked fine, it gave my client an IP of 192.168.2.105

The problem is, my local network is 192.168.2.0/24 so once I changed the default IP of the router to suit that - the guest network range did not update to use something else. It still tried to assign me client an IP within 192.168.2.0/24 - that obviously wont work. I'm in contact with Spark support as to a way around this.

Thanks

Just leave the IP assignment as it was.

The SM3 default admin IP is 192.168.1.254.

Default network DHCPs are on 192.168.1.0/24.

Have you got some other device on your network issuing DHCPs?
