Hi everyone, I have just been donated the B618 and I'm pondering if this would provide better wifi than the existing HG659B. This works OK in the lounge with the TV but very weak elswhere. I appreciate that there has been discussions about these models previously but I am from the mainframe computer era so they are a bit to technical for an old warrior. I wll be very grateful for your advice. Cheers, John

Try it and see. Are you talking 2.4 or 5 GHz when you say weak. How many walls, gib, concrete??

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Thanks fopr yhour quick reply. 2.4 seems to connect better but is slower. 5 is very patchy. 2 gib walls, about 15 metres in a straight line.

Correct as 5Ghz is a higher frequency so the higher the frequency the shorter the wavelength

Less coverage footprint
