I set up a couple of GWN7660 access points in the local rugby club a couple of years ago.  As far as I know they've been running perfectly since then.  However, I thought I should do a check up on them and probably update the firmware.  Are there any firmware issues to know about or anything else to look out for with these devices?

Hi.

Have you checked the release notes? Without knowing about the environment, it's unlikely anyone will be able to provide much useful information as to what impact changes in firmware will have for you.

There were some issues with a firmware update last year (see here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=304655) but those have since been resolved.

I have a couple of these scattered around the place and have no issues with firmware upgrades. Most recent one was last month when I updated my ones at home. Everything still works as expected (2 GWN7660's, 1 master and one mesh)

Awesome, thanks guys.  I'll just go with the latest release then.
