I got a PC under the table with a wifi card at the back and it doesn't seem to have a great signal. I think part of it is because it's blocked by the PC itself, because my laptop in the same room on the same table never had any problem with wifi.

Would it help if I upgrade one of the antennas to one of those "extended" antennas like this one, and position it somewhere out in the open?

Or maybe I should get one of those USB wifi dongles and put it at the end of a USB extension cable?

What's the Wi-Fi card on your desktop? I have a D-Link AX3000 Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 PCIe card with an external antenna, under my desk and it works great.

The USB Wi-Fi may not perform as well as a PCIe card if not connected to a USB 3 port with proper cable.

Always best to go with a USB wifi card - you can extend the radio chip up to a position where it can connect directly to a larger antenna.

You loose more signal in an antenna cable than you do in the air so its best to get it out of the air as close to the radio chip as possible.

An external 5dbi or larger antenna with a short 1 metre cable will be an improvement.

A usb extension cable to a usb wifi dongle with a 5dbi antenna directly attached will be much better.
