Can anyone point me to a diagram to wire a a plug onto a network cable. I cut one off the cable I had to make it easier to feed thru a hole in skirting board then out an air vent on the house. I went to put a new plug on, but found the colour coding of the wires doesn't match the normal colour coding.

See colours in the photo

The lighter colored pairs will be color/white and the darker color pairs just the color. So just use lighter colors as the stripped color and darker pairs as the color.

Here is a diagram that i have used in the past.

T568A and T568B Wiring Standards| Comms InfoZone

looking at your image you have from the left white/brown, brown, white/blue, blue, orange, white/orange, white/green, green.

From left to right, can you tell me the order I need to put my colours.

Why can I not find the colours I have in a google search.

The darker blue in the original is on the left.

The cut off plug or the other end should show the original order of termination to match.

You have just alerted me to another problem. I don't know if the plug I left on is wired for A or B.

I would be using the A standard

You should be able to check the cut off plug to see what the termination color scheme is.

For the A Standard from left you want Light Green, Dark Green, Light Orange, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Dark Orange, Light Brown, Dark Brown.
