I just installed Orb on my phone and on my NAS (Docker container).

It's from the founders of Speedtest and DownDetector.

The speed test results are provided by Cloudflare. Interestingly my Speedtest Tracker (to a Quic server), consistently give me max line speed (900+/500+)

Ok, Those were the numbers immediately after installation. Here's a speedtest after:

Will be interesting to see how this progresses as a product.

The Windows desktop app seems to close after a while, which is a bit annoying. I'm running this on my NAS and a Proxmox instance too.

kiwifidget:

What does this do that Ookla does not?

It constantly measures your Internet quality, not speed (although they do have a speedtest built in). It gives a score based on your connection.

So it would make more sense to run this on a wired device as opposed to a wifi one then, like with regular speedtests?

I see why the windows app closing down is less than ideal then.
