Hi guys,

After seeing the rackstuds being given as prizes at the Auckland Geekzone meetup last month, it got me thinking as per title.

Currently my Mikrotik and a dumb 8-port switch are attached inside the enclosure with cable ties was wondering if there is a more secure way to mount the gears?

Are the hole matrix inside the enclosure there to help with heat dissipation or can they be used for mounting with right sized screws?

Some patch panels and a switch were mounted in ours using some form of push pin that was made for those holes. The pins pushed through a bracket that held cage nuts.

You can also find cheap car fastener assortments that have one of them working with the holes in those panels to hold things, and then 3d print something to hold your gear.

Thanks guys for the suggestions, will investigate the PB option and see how I go from there.

Lots of the options I see online are mostly for rackmounts and not for enclosures so hopefully the suggestion above is what I am looking for.

Another way if your gear isn't rackmount is to use these:

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/CHSDNX0025/Dynamix-HBK-1001-Universal-Mounting-Bracket-for-HW

If the devices have mounting holes on the bottom you can mount them to this, and then it clips into the panel holes.
