Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help, i've setup my bluetooth access point (TECOM BT3021) and paired it with two different PC's. I'm using XP on both machines. The access point is plugged into the router which has a working internet connection. I've used the internet through the router via an ethernet cable, so i know the router isn't the problem. However the problem is that when i try to connect to the access point it appears with a bluetooth null connection, it asks me for a username and a password. I've tried so many different things e.g. username:guest, password:guest, username:blank, password:blank....and nothing works. After i click connect the status appears saying dialing, then it says "Error 777: The connection attempt failed becuase the modem (or other connecting device) on the remote computer is out of order."

I've also tried to query the null modem and there is no response.

Here is the log of what happens when i try to connect to the access point (i think)

What Bluetooth software are you using on your computers? Widcomm or Windows XP SP2?

Check what kind of network is supported by TECOM, either LAP or PAN. If they are using LAP and you are using the Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth software then it may not work with your computers since this software supports only PAN.

Hi,

Thanks very much for the quick reply. I'm using widcomm, all of the dongles use widcomm software.

O, and the widcomm supports LAP because i've networked with that between two pcs using the dongles. However i'm not sure which tecom supports, i assumed it was LAP as i couldn't access it using a different dongle that supported PAN...
