OK. I've read all the post and have done everything. Uninstalled drivers and rebooted blah...blah...blah. Here is the issue and I might be doing somehting wrong. The driver will load ok and when I try to use the work around for SP2 I never get the BT icon and I can't enable the BT tray because everytime it tells me there are no devices. Here's the thing, it's doing it on Windows 2k SP4 and not bluetooth ever installed. Using Ambicom dongle with widcomm ver. 1.4.2 If anyone can help that would be great and maybe my head will quit hurting!!!!

Perhaps a hardware issue? Can you test this Bluetooth dongle in another computer? Are you using USB HUB instead of connecting it directly to a USB port? Or perhaps the USB port itself is faulty?

Any software firewall installed and blocking communications internally?
