Hi there,

I'm doing research on Bluetooth and unfortunately I don't have much time and resources. I would appreciate if someone answers my following question:

Do most cell phones that support bluetooth have an API that remote devices can call (after authentication) to ask for the owner's permission to install a software on their cell phone so the cell phone owner can use that device's services using that software?
Or is it possible to do such thing at all?

Cheers,
Nima

AFAIK not. You can transfer files using OBEX File Transfer, but automatic installation is not part of the specification or any API. This also prevents automatic replication of malicious software.
