I am having difficulty getting the PDA to reconnect in the event I turn off the PDA and turn it back on again. It says the wireless network is available, but does connect. Sometimes then the network disappears. My other computers connect fine, but obviously aren't turned off very often.

I am not running WEP etc., nor is the distance an issue.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Are you broadcasting the network SSID? Not broadcasting the SSID may cause problems like this. Not broadcasting the SSID is also NOT a valid security measure since tools like Kismet can easily discover cloaked SSID broadcasts.

You should...

1. Change the access point/router default administrator password to a STRONG password.
2. Change the network SSID to something unique and broadcast the SSID.
3. Use 128-bit WEP or better yet use WPA if your hardware supports it.
4. Use a HEX WEP key on the iPAQ.

5. Change the transmit channel on the access point/router to 1, 6 or 11 (or some other channel) to minimize interference with 2.4 GHz wireless phones, your neighbors, etc. You may need to experiment to find the best channel.

Good luck...
