OK my quest to get Back to my Mac working continues..
I purchased an Apple Airport Express as my current Orcon Home Hub has "issues" with uPNP so will not work correctly with BTMM. Sadly I did not realise that the Airport does not support PPPOA, as my intention was to stick the Home Hub in bridge mode and run the whole thing from the Airport Express, which would give me the NAT-PMP I needed for BTMM.
So.....
I am trying to see if I can get things going with a DSL-502 GenII modem in half bridge mode. If my understanding is correct, which is highly unlikely, in half bridge, the modem provides login to my ISP but pipes that internet staright to a router (in this case the APX) to do all the DHCP and NAT type stuff. Problem I have is that when I disable NAT in the DSL-502, I have not internet from the APX. If I have NAT enabled on the DSL, I either disable it in the APX, thereby losing the NAT-PMP function I'm after, or I end up double NAT-ed.
So, can someone tell me if I'm:
1. Totally barking up the wrong tree here or..
2. How can I disable NAT on the DSL modem and maintain the internet feed to the APX.
I'm a novice here but it's good fun learning. Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Darryn
