Are you plugging the USB adapter directly to a USB port on your computer or a USB HUB? Also, some old motherboard based on VIA chipset had problems with USB. And some Dell computer have different power for the USB ports in the front - recommended using the ports in the back.

I have a toshiba A45 notebook and i plugged in the adapter on one of the USB's on the side, it has two on the left side and 2 in the back. I only find information that concerns problems when the XP SP2 is installed but I uninstalled it a while ago because it was very annoying. I've tried every USB port and neither one works, hope this information helps. Im trying to install it to sync it with a sony ericsson K700i, I installed the software from the cell phone, I dont think it has to do with the problem.

Thanks a lot.
