Hi what is the best way to connect an MT882 Modem to an Airport Extreme.

I have tried through PPOE but I am not on the Red Network so that doesn't work.

The MT882 Modem uses DHCP and NAT but so does the Airport Extreme, I would prefer the Airport Extreme to handle NAT and DHCP.

If I have them both using NAT and DHCP I get 'Double Nat errors' on the Airport and it gets messy.

Any ideas?

I currently have the Airport Extreme running in bridged mode.

(On Vodafone, not Red Network)

Thanks

I had this problem the other day with double NAT errors on the Airport Extreme. I set the adsl modem to run DHCP and had the Airport Extreme doing NAT and then it worked fine. So when the Airport Ex tells you about the double NAT error and you choose the recommended option does it not work properly?

I would have put the modem in half-bridge mode, if it's capable of doing that.

Look for PPP extension or half-bridge mode, where you can still define the modem as the authentication handler but pass all the traffic to the router (AE), who then thinks it's directly connected to the 'net.

Airport Extreme only does PPPoE, and most NZ connections are PPPoA (mine is).
