I have Belkin FT8001 and Conceptronics Bluetooth Headset.

I am trying to make my headset work as microphone and headset of my pc but until now with no luck.

I have tried 1.3.2.7 and 1.3.2.17 using the .inf files from my original drivers 1.2.2.16

After pairing my headset I start Bluetooth Service on PC and my headset makes the signal of connection request, I press the button on my headset to take the "call" but nothing happens. The Widcomm driver change my audio device from SBlaster to Btooth audio but I cant hear anything and I cant use the microphone.

I am waiting for 1.4.1. (bluetoothmaster said that will post a patch guide for non Dlink/tdk dongles) but I am a bit exceptical.

I also have a 3970 with Widcomm Stack and I tried the registry patch to make the Headset profile available but there is no way to make it work!

Any help with the headset profile?

The support for the headset profile is native on 1.3.2, and if it changes the audio device to BT, it's all good on the PC side. Are you sure the headset allows more than one pairing?

Since both the PC and ipaq have problems talking with the headset, I would blame it. Do you have another one to try?

The headset works perfect with 6310i, T39m and T68i. All of them discover the device, can be paired and works without problems.

Its true that the headset can be paired only with one device at a time. So I have paired my PC with my headset succesfully (the PC detects the service and pair with the headset without problems) but after making the connection I hear a "bell" on my headset (telling that my pc wants a connection) then I answer and the Headset icon turns green on my PC. But nothing more, i can´t hear anything.

I think that my Belkin Its not completely prepared for the Widcomm 1.3.2. Because, when I install Widcomm driver 1.3.2 (after the soft is installed) and I plug the dongle I have to use the inf files from my 1.2.16. As I know, my device (Belkin/ with broadcom HWare) load its firmware from this file and maybe the firmware from 1.2.16, its not prepared for 1.3.2 driver.

Another thing that I cant explain is how the official bluetooth hware manufacturers (as Belkin) can sell on theirs web a bluetooth dongle without headset profile in their official soft (1.2.16) and at the same time they want to sell me their new BT headset!!!

I work for a Mobile Telco in Spain and I am very dissapointed with the software support of Bluetooth (and this goes for Pocket PCs, PC, manufacturers as Belkin, Microsoft ...)

What about the Bluetoothmaster guide to patch TDK 1.4.2 soft, is alredy online? Its the only think that may help me?

Ah... I see your problem (or so I think).

Belkin has not released version 1.3, and I was told they will skip it to go directly to 1.4, which includes headset and also HID (keyboard, mouse and joystick).

When you installed the 1.3 from other manufacturer with the Belkin 1.2 inf file the system might not find the appropriate file for btaudio.dll and other stuff. Hence no voice. Version 1.2 does not support headset, but the files are there. TDK has a configuration file explaning how to make it work on 1.2, but it's not needed for drivers 1.3 and up. If you follow the guide do not download the old driver! Download only the .zip with the .reg and instructions at the bottom of the page.

The link for the guide you're talking about is one of other threads. It's not for the TDK though, but for Dell drivers with a Acer inf file, plus some hexeditor changes in one .dll

I have tried 1.2.2.8 registry tweak with no luck I also tried 1.4.1.4 patched for my Belkin and still the same problem, not sound at all. I will try to find another headset and find if the problem is on the Conceptronics Earbridge or my Belkin dongle.

P.D. 1.4.1.4 patched for my Belkin have problems with the Internet access with my Ipaq with BT stack. I have turned back to 1.3.2.17 from Anycom.

I have 1.4.1.6 with my Belkin F8T001, and it doesn't appear to work with my Jabra BT200. Still messing around. But I am not expecting anything. Everything else works great. Jabra talks to Nokia 3650 and Nokia talks to Desktop.

I know it could mean bad news, but have a look at this newsgroup discussion I've participated a month ago, where other user says the hardware may not have a specific functionality implemented.

In this page there's a tutorial on how the Headset and Audio Gateways profile work.

Hi guys,

I am the poster that Mauricio was refering to in regards to the Belkin and the headset profile. Belkin did reply to an email that I sent saying that the F8T001 was not capable of using a Bluetooth headset. I have loaded the 1.4 drivers per the instructions from another thread on this forum. Everything works EXCEPT the headset. I had exactly the same issue as was described here. The headset pairs with the computer and when I activate either the headset profile or the audio gateway the headset "rings" but pushing the button does NOT make a connection with the computer. I have selected BT Audio Device for my audio playback but no combinations of settings works.

I am HUGELY disappointed since Belking advertises that this dongle works with any Bluetooth 1.1 device. The headset I am using is a Plantronics M1000. It works fine with my Sony Ericsson T68i. I am thinking about writing Belkin and see if they will exchange the F8T001 for the F8T003 which according to Belkin CAN support BT Headset profiles.

Let me know if you need more information. I can certainly forward a copy of the email if anyone is interested.

Cheers
TC

Hi everybody,

I´ve been talking with a friend that has my headset (Earbridge) and a Conceptronic dongle. He describe the same problem than I. I´m not sure that the problem is Belkin HW. And I don´t trust so much in the "knowledge" of Belkin support.

Anyway Waclark, if you discover something please let us know.
