A couple of weeks ago while travelling in the USA, I purchased a Toshiba Satellite A15-S157 Note Book.

This note book was/is a great tool for downloading, editing and storing the many digital photographs that I took. It was also a terrific tool to use for emailing family and friends back home.

The PC comes with and Intergrated Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless LAN of what I know nothing about.

What is it and how do I go about using it in NZ?

What costs am I likely to occur if I use this means of communication?

Thanks. As I said, I am green :(

Where are you based in New Zealand? A couple of months ago I tried Cafe Net in Wellington and it worked well.

If you're more specific on your location we can try and find something else...

O, then... You should give the CafeNet a go, and see how it works for you. Of course this is only good for access while outside your office or home - where you'll have your own infrastructure in place.

If you want a wireless router for home or office, Quay computers and Harvey Norman are the best places to find these.
