Hi there

Trying to get this going with a new router - but always resolves to the router itself.

I have a NAS box at 192.168.0.252 and have been able to access this previously with another router.

The ports on the NAS box are set to 80/21 respectively. I have tested that 8080 and 8021 are open by going to http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html.

Any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong? The protocol was previously just TCP but that didnt work either.

Check for a firmware upgrade.
I have also come across some routers that ask for an internal port number but still will not translate it so the external and internal port needs to be the same. oh also disable wide area network access to your router interface. If your router listens on port 80 on the wan interface then it may be getting mixed up somewhere.

what model router is this?

maybe its as simple as swapping the port numbers around, are 8080 and 80 open or just 80? if just 80 then logic would say just swap the numbers around in your config.

Otherwise look at http://portforward.com/ and use the guide for your model and see if there is maybe a step missed.

Flamer.
