Hello,

My PC is installed with Win XP SP2. I already made all installation workaround I found on internet to avoid problem with SP2 bluetooth driver. I delete all .inf bluetooth SP2 drivers and I have reinstalled my WIDCOMM driver.
The bluetooth device I want to use is a credit card reader (serial over bluetooth).
I can dedect my PC from the device and I can do the pairing.
After the pairing I have to establish the serial connection from the BT device, but when the device tries to connect to the PC the bluetooth driver on the PC displays the message "Error in pairing with device, Reason : Authentication failed, try pairing again".
At this time I can try to pair again and the pairing will be OK but I will always get the same message when I will try to connect.
It's like if the bluetooth driver is forgetting the pairing key or the pairing with this devive but I can see my creditcard reader in the bluetooth place. Rem . my PC is a Fujitsu with an integrated BT chip.

Did you have this problem??

Thanks in advance for our answers

Alain.

Have you tried establishing the pairing from your computer instead of your device?

If it doesn't work, it sounds like a problem with the registry. In this case there's something else to try, later.

Hello,

Thanks for your answer. I cannot do the pairing from the PC. This is a creditCard reader and for security reason the pairing can only be initiated from the device.

Ok... Is this problem of "forgetting" pairing only happening with this device, or any other one? If this problem is happening with any device, you can try a trick that worked for other problems: remove the Bluetooth adapter, create a new user on your computer with Admin rights, restart and log with this new user, remove the Bluetooth software, restart (and always with this new user), install the Bluetooth software again.

After you do this you'll have to change the drivers from Windows XP SP2 to the new Bluetooth drivers after you insert the Bluetooth adapter again.

From now you can use the old user account and see if it works.
