I am desparate.

I have a iPAQ 2210 and a Sitecom Bluetooth dongle which I use on Windows XP SP1.

The bluetooth connection, active sync, internet and MSN worked fine, until one of my friends installed a Bluetooth driver of HP, to test the HP Bluetooth headphones on my iPAQ 2210.

The trouble started after this.
The connections failed.

I removed the drivers of my dongle on my pc, reinstalled this.
Hard resetted the iPAQ and reinstalled this.

But I can't get the Active Sync or the internet to work.
The connection is good, because I can tranfer files from the iPAQ to my PC and vice versa. I have followed all guides there are available on Bluetooth and internet, but at no avail.
It doesn't work.

I have tried a iPAQ hx2750 with the same Bluetooth dongle and that seems to work fine. I could make an Active Sync (guest account) connection, MSN worked and I could surf the internet.
But when I try my iPAQ 2210 it doesn't work.

Is there anyone out here, who can give me the golden tip? I am now at the verge of selling my iPAQ 2210 and buying a iPAQ hx2750, because I know that works well......................

Anita

You shouldn't need to change anything on your PC, since the drivers were installed on your Pocket PC. Since you've done this, you have to check the obvious things:

- Using the wrong COM port: make sure ActiveSync is using the Incoming or Server COM port.
- Firewall: make sure there is no firewall blocking neither the Bluetooth software nor ActiveSync.

I've checked the COM ports.

I will check them later when I am at home. The firewall shouldn't be an issue.
Any other tips?

Still no Active Sync throught Bluetooth. No firewall is bothering me on the computer.

Active Sync uses COM7
When I try to make a Bluetooth shortcut, using "Active Sync via Bluetooth" the iPAQ responses with "service discovery was unsuccessful"

The requested service is not running on this device. Please make sure the service is enabled on this device or select another to continue"

Any tips on what I should install on my computer to make it work?

ActiveSync is using COM7, but is it started? On your computer, open the Bluetooth configuration, change to Local Services and make sure the Serial Service is set to Auto.

Start up automatically...

THAT IS IT!!

Also I found out that my Bluetooth GPS receiver uses COM8, so I changed the COM in the Bluetooth configuration.

THANK YOU SO MUCH
