Hi there.

I have read the BT guides on the site and find them very useful, especially when I got my first PDA. I need to connect to the net via my PC using BT and am having a spot of bother. On my laptop I select network access for this PC, and it goes through the motoions (my PC even registers another device connected), but my laptop waits a few seconds authenticating and then I get a message telling me:

"Error creating 'Network Access' connection with device 'Ash PC'". (Ash PC is my computer obviously!!).

Does anyone have any clues ?

Thanks.

Have you checked that there's no software firewall blocking communications? By the description it sounds like you're trying to connect a laptop to another computer. Check that both have their firewalls configured to allow the Bluetooth softwarecommunications.

Thanks for your reply. I have shut down all firewall applications, and now the laptop displays the following box after the authentication screen:

"Error creating 'Network Access' with device 'Ash PC'.

Any clues ?
