i-mate SP3: TI OMAP 730 200MHz; Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 Ozone update, SE;
ROM 1.5.33.11.
Panasonic CF-R1N laptop: Bluetake BT009Si; Microsoft Windows XP Prof SP2; Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8
I chose the BT009Si rather than the BT007Si because I wanted to minimise power consumption.
I am using the Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth drivers/stack etc, not IVT BlueSoleil as supplied with the BT009Si. BlueSoleil 1.4.9.3 apparently installed OK, but on re-start-up execution of BlueSoleil stalled with an error report from Windows and did not proceed to the point of requesting plug-in of the BT009Si. I also tried 1.4.9.5 unsuccessfully. Un-installed BlueSoleil. (Problem did not occur on a desktop PC WXP SP2.)
ActiveSync Synchronisation
Thanks to Garth Rautenbach's detailed guide at
http://www.psychoman.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11.0
I can report that I can sync Pocket Outlook with Outlook 2003 (Contacts, haven’t tried Tasks etc).
Modem
I can also successfully use the SP3 as a modem (GPRS or CSD Vodafone NZ) via the BT009Si..
Linux
Anyone tried the BT009Si under eg BlueZ on RedHat 9.0?
