Hi, I hope somebody can help...

I have two laptops paired with one another. Both running windows xp pro with hp bluetooth embedded. They were working smoothly for several weeks until I decided to customize the bluetooth exchange folder on laptop B (changed the icon). Suddenly laptop A cannot send files to laptop B, though it can transfer files from it. It creates an FTP connection but then says "error copying file." Also, laptop B can still transfer files to laptop A and can grab files from laptop A. The only difficulty is trying to send files from laptop A to laptop B.

Another strange thing is that after I customized the icon on laptop B's exchange folder, a "desktop.ini" file appears in laptop b's exchange folder when laptop A scans it; however, laptop B cannot see (or even find) the desktop.ini file in its own exchange folder. I feel like this has something to do with the inability of laptop A to send files to Laptop B, but I don't know enough to know for sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Never mind -- I figured it out (deleted the "bluetooth exchange folder" on laptop B and created a new one if anybody else is as dumb as me).

You are using Windows XP Pro... Make sure this folder has the correct permissions, perhaps you might want to change it to EVERYONE ALLOW READ/WRITE.

Also, on your Bluetooth configuration make sure it allow clients to write to the folder:
