I am currently using Linksys wireless network card(WMP54G) and Linksys router(WRT54g), it works fine with my Windows XP professional desktop.

In recent I bought a Billionton bluetooth USB adapter and installed the bluetooth software completely (version 1.3.X) and successfully used the BT services. But after the installation of the BT hardware and software, my Linksys PCI adapter was failed to get IP Address information from the router, seems can't get the DHCP information although the connection was showed ok.

Does it mean I cannot use bluetooth adapter together with wireless network 802.11G ?

Please advise for the issue. Thank you.

I've seen Neil post about this same problem and failed to find any reference somewhere else. It seems it happens on Windows XP only though. I haven't replied to the other post, but still looking for some answers.

I just wonder why no one use 802.11g/802.11b wireless network with Bluetooth adapter in Windows XP environment.

I searched for many forums and knowledge bases, but find no help. It is really annoying as I cannot use my BT dongle at all.

I've also seen a couple of threads in other forums noting this problem.

I'm using a D-Link DWL-650+ card on my laptop and a D-Link DBT-120 usb adapter together. My desktop has a Netgear MA401 card with the TDK usb adapter. The router is the Netgear MR814. All are running at the same time on each computer and I'm not experiencing any problems.

DHCP is working fine.

Just by chance, are you letting Windows configure your wireless connections or are you setting the configuration of your cards through their utilities???

I have the windows option turned off.

Thank you for your reply. Last night, I removed all the bluetooth installation, and installed the BT WIDCOMM software 1.4.X again (as told by Mr. Protos in above message). It finally worked on my side, but something strange was that, the BT software did not create the BT LAN connection and dial-up network as ususal, it just installed all the other things. Other things seems ok, I finally can use my 802.11G to connect router normally and connect my BT mobile phone thru BT COM port services successfully at the same time.

Anyway, I will try to create the BT LAN connection by myself to test if the all BT services can fully work.
