Hi,

I am due an upgrade on my 6210e with Orange.
I am looking at a 6310i because it is a similar phone but with Bluetooth.

The features of BT I hope to use are:

Internet connection for my portable PC (Win2K) when away from home
Internet connection for my iPAQ 3850 when away from home

A bonus would be a decent headset to use with the phone.

I already have a wired and wireless (802.11b) LAN which does me fine for Broadband access at home, so I don't need anything special for the PCs for normal use, just when I am on the road.

So far my searching has turned up Belkin and TDK PCMCIA cards which should fit both my portable and iPAQ.

However it looks as though I might be able to get a USB BT device and a BT back for the iPAQ for a similar price to a single PCMCIA card. This seems like a potentially more flexible solution.

So to the questions :-)

Do the USB devices perform as well as the PCMCIA cards?

Does the TDK BT and CF jacket perform O.K.? I haven't been able to find any reviews on this site but I did note a mention of short range in another thread.

Is it worth paying more for a Type 1 device?

TIA
