I know... I wanted to hear from this person though. The problem is not the annoucement - it is fine, but not using "I came across", making it sound like this person is not related to the site. It makes things sound like spam. And this is what I keep cleaning on this site.

Would be much better for this person to come clean and a) post in the announcements forum as the owner or b) send me a note and ask if I can post on the blog or news section.

Other people did this - we have PR agencies and website owners posting on Announcements, with no problems.
