X: exactly what they told me 2 months ago: "we sent it to MSI for testing" :) But I hope it'll really come out sometime soon, this is getting pretty pathetic.
Where do you guys get the 1.4.2.10 drivers? usenet, IRC?! I got mail from Widcomm's support today that they've released the 1.4.2.10 drivers to OEMs and that new drivers should be available soon...but they've said the same few months ago :(
Weird...it says it can't find my bluetooth device, even though it installed it during the setup. If I doubleclick on the icon, it says it can't find my BT device, if I rightclick on it, then it asks me for that license.dat file. I'm really confused now, does the wrong license make it not work, or is there something wrong with the driver itself?
I've just installed the version 1.4.2.10 from Belkin and I have the same license.dat problem even though I have a Belkin f8t001_v1 usb adaptor. The new version is locked to work only with the f8t001_v2... :(
theh0g: Try uninstalling any older version of the stack before installing the new one. I had the same problem you are describing and decided to remove everything before reinstalling it. I'm now getting the license problem...
On MSI's forum I've read 1.4.2.10 drivers are in testing right now and should be out by the end of October, I don't know why the testing, but okay, I'll wait another month.
Is it just me or is this whole Bluetooth support (drivers&stuff) totaly retarded?! They are trying to make it popular, yet only one company is developing a driver, which is protected by some gay license file and after they release a driver, each OEM must customize it so it takes another month. I find this very unprofessional.
I agree with you. Why can't they follow Nvidia or ATI example. One drivers applies to all maker. I don't see any problem here. I must say I get rather pissed off if I bought some Bluetooth dongle whose maker doesn't even have a website, needless to say to download the latest bluetooth stacker from them.
I've tried to hack C:\Windows\System32\btsec.dll file, and I must admit it isn't the easiest thing to do in the world. Blame my ASM skill.
My achievement so far, I managed to overwrite a few files with newer files from 1.4.2.10 (BTNDIS Dynamic Link Library and other services). All bluetooth services still runs fine on them.
Anyone with btsec.dll from 1.4.1.16 version? Maybe we can just overwrite it with older version. Not sure if it works.
