Hi,
I'm totally green to BT and setup procedures. My OS is WinXP pro. I have a DSL connection to net.
I'm trying to get my, HP PDA h2210, to communicate with the PC via a DBT-120 (usb) dongle.
I've installed the 1.4.1 build 6, driver with seemingly no problem, except no adapter is placed on the 'connection manager' page, and no entree is made in the 'device manager' settings page. Consequently no services are ever detected in the configuration wizard.
Sure hope some one can point me in the right direction to get me going in Bluetooth connections.

Thank you,
Paul

It might seem as a unnecessary question but... You've rebooted since installing the software, right?

Hi freitasm and thanks for your reply.
Yes, I have re booted (several times :-)). All looks ok (the device manager tells me that the device is working ok), until I come to the configuration wizard's 'Bluetooth Serve Selection' page. This page is always blank (shows no services).
BTW, I've installed the driver and the dongle on my laptop (also WinXP pro) with total success, but my PC refuses to recognize (it seems) the dongle. I've tried all the USB ports with no changes. I'm just about stumped.

It's something with your configuration. Is the user allowed Administrator privileges? Have you tried removing and installing the software again?

Hi again (wow, you're fast :-).
I'm the only person using this machine; and yes, I've re-installed the software SEVERAL times. I've also installed the older driver (1.2.2.15) which came with the dongle, with similar negative results. I agree with you that "something" in my settings is giving me the head ache, but what?? Many thanks for your concern.

In case any one is interested:
After re-installing WinXP on my machine, every thing is working as advertised. So, there was obviously a 'snag' in my previous installation, although all programs seemed to work properly, except of cause Bluetooth.
Thanks to those that tried to help me out.

Good to know it's working now. Shame youy had to reinstall the system, but I had to do the same just to install Palm Desktop once...
