I have a desktop PC and a notebook PC, both running Windows XP Professional SP1. The two machines are networked via 10/100 Ethernet cards using a "crossed" network cable. Shared directories exist on both machines under a workgroup, so that each machine can access both its own shares and the other machine's shares.

Now, here comes the PocketPC (iPAQ 3970 with Windows Mobile 2003). I want to set-up a simple Bluetooth network, using my PocketPc and a USB Bluetooth dongle connected on one XP machine (desktop or notebook), so that the PocketPC can access the XP shares on both machines. From what I've been told, there is no need for a dedicated Bluetooth access point for this kind of network.

The Bluetooth usb dongle is a Gigabyte GN-BTD01 with WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack 1.3.2.7. Both the desktop and notebook PC are running Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, but the firewall is configured to allow anything on the network neighborhood devices (ethernet cards and bluetooth LAN access server device).

Although I can successfully perform ActiveSync synch via bluetooth, no matter what I do I can't access my network shares on both my XP machines. I've searched the internet, read various messages, but none of them worked.

Can someone provide me with step-by-step instructions on how can I set-up my PPC and the XP machine with the BT USB Dongle attached so that I can access my network shares? I'm trying almost two days now to make the damn thing work, but with no avail.
