Hi
I have a ipaq h2210 and want to connect to my pc's Broadband (it has ICS) via BT. all is well and it connects and I can log into MSN and check email, but my IE dies afters about 5 min of use. It gives NO error, it just loads the page, or makes like it is for hours if I leave it, mean while MSN and email are still running fine in the Background.

I have checked all settings a mill times.

Please can someone HELP ME!!!

Welcome to Geekzone...

Could it be memory? How much memory you have available? Have you cleared the Pocket Internet Explorer cache (Options | Delete Files)?

try a soft reset, clear the cache and try again...

If you have Wi-Fi on your Pocket PC then you could connect to a wireless LAN Access Point - but this is an unnecessary expense if you already don't have this.

As for the Bluetooth - no you shouldn't need more memory. It could be that your Bluetooth adapter is configured to be "off" after a while for power saving? Lock the Power Management tab in all USB Root HUB devices and make sure it is unchecked.

To get there open Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager and scroll down to Universal Serial Bus.

Hmmm. You probably are looking at something different - make sure you are looking at properties for USB Root Hub, which is under the section Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Please could you go through all setting with me from the begginning as if I just did a hard reset. I also need setting for the pc. Here is what I have: In net work connections I have:

UNDER BROADBAND, I have my dial up -> with ICS and pointing to local area connection 2 (my BT PAN) and my ISP's DNS's.

Then I have my local area network 2 (BT PAN) - > IP 192.169.0.1 - > SNM 255.255.255.0 and ISP's DNS's

Then I have my Local area connection -> Auto IP and NO DNS's

I am on I-burst, wirless Broadband which connects through my local area connection to a hub then to the broadband "Modem"

ON MY IPAQ

under network management -> where is says "Programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using:" and I can choose between: My Work Network and My ISP.

Then under that it says "Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using:" and the same options

Then I have network cards, if I go in there, I can choose between WORK & THE INTERNET?????? Which one?

Then if I choose Bluetooth PAN User Drivers -> Use server-assigned IP address is selected.
If I then tap Name Servers I can enter my DNS, ALT DNS, WINS and Alt WINS. I have my ISP's DNS's in there???? Is this right?

When I created a BT connection I tap new -> Connect -> Explore a BT device -> choose my PC -> then select Group Ad-hoc Network Service?????? Is this correct?

MY BT SETTING ON IPAQ

current profile set to default Under general

Accessibility: I have entered my name, allow ather devices to connect is selected and other devices can discover me

File Transfer: enable service is selected

INFO Exchange: enables service is selected

Serial port: enable service is selected

Dial-Up Networking: enable service is selected, Com:7, Baud rate 115200, Flow Control: Hardware (RTS/Cts)

Personal Network Server: Enable Service is selected.

DAMN, after this, I better get it working cos my fingers can't type anymore, LOL :-)

Please see what you can do for me, I called HP South Africa, and their services, well, if you can call it servise, is up to....... They say it cant be done and the prob is with my ISP, PLEASE, HOW DO THESE PEOPLE GET THESE JOBS??????????

Thanks Bud :-)

Have you looked at our Bluetooth Guides? The way you describe it looks like you want to use PAN, but you are configuring ICS - these won't work together.

Have a look at this guide.

You can stream if you have the Windows Media Encoder 9 (free dowload from the Microsoft website on the Windows Media section) on your computer - you encode whatever is playing and point WMP Mobile to your computer's IP address.

WMP Mobile does not play MPEG, only WMV, WMA, MP3. You can download a free program for this from tcpmp.org.

Hi Me again

Please help me sort this out.

OK, I used to connect to the net via BT network on my ADSL, but then its stopped working, so we have now connecting to the net with a BT activesync, so i am syncing everytime i wanna use the net, ok. But my BT rang is much less that when i connect a BT network. dont know if you will understand what I am saying.... I hope so!!!

My BT sync dies at about 5 meters away, but when I connect my BT network I can walk about 100m away and the connection is fine.

Is there anyway that I can up the range of my BT sync?
I do know that the AS is connecting throught a COM (7) and the network is throught my PAN. but should the BT strength differ?

Sorry for being such a pain.

The strength should be the same - but perhaps the ActiveSync is set to disconnect after the sync is completed?
